It probably doesn’t have quite the appeal to many it once did (too many devalue it) but the FA Cup is still regarded by many as ‘the best cup competition in the world’, Morecambe now enter the competition.

Morecambe are off to the Crabble Ground as we look to make sure that non-league outfit Dover Athletic don’t cause an FA Cup upset against us, which we’ll be looking to do against others as this competition unfolds!

Dover could be without Christian Nanetti (ankle) and Barry Cogan (hamstring), both are doubtful so could join ‘keeper Mitch Walker (hand) and captain Craig Stone (broken ankle) in missing out.

Queens Park Rangers ‘keeper Joe Lumley has become the latest ‘keeper signed, he arrived on Friday on a youth loan.

Lumley will start as fellow loanee ‘keeper Scott Davies wasn’t granted permission by parent club Fleetwood Town to feature and both Barry Roche (hip) and Andreas Arestidou (ankle) missing.

Chris Kinnear, Dover’s boss, knows it’ll be a tough game but he fancies his sides chances, he told BBC Radio Kent: ‘We had a good run last year and played away at MK Dons in the second round, which was amazing. We did ourselves justice and only lost 1-0.

‘They are a league above us and they should beat us but we have got a chance. We are playing quite well at the moment, especially at home.

‘Morecambe are a proper club and it won’t be easy. We fancy ourselves against anyone.’

Dover have shown before they can cut it so we’ll not have this easy at all, even less so away from home!
