With the start of the new football season now less than a week away we take a look at Morecambe’s chances this season.

Recently a cut down version of the following interview appeared in the very popular FourFourTwo magazine but we bring it to you right here in full.

Dream Season

Our dream season would be getting to the play offs and winning promotion, I think that would go beyond what people expect for the season.

Nightmare Season

Our nightmare season would be relegation to non-league, that’s a big contrast from our ‘dream season’ but we are a very unpredictable team at times.

Our fans think our team is

We have a good squad and hopefully under new mangement we can progress and do better than last season.

Other fans think our team is

I think a lot of other football fans see us as easy points but on our day we are as good as anyone else, maybe thats why we do well against the bigger clubs.

Best away fans in your division (not your own!)

Accrington always bring some exitment with the Ultras so would have to say them.

Best away ground in your division

Not had a chance to visit all of them yet but out of the ones I’ve been to it would be Shrewsbury nice modern stadium although not everyones cup of tea.

Manager¹s popularity out of 10

Right now 10, there has been nothing but positives from the club since he was appointed.

Where will you finish this season?

Don’t want to get too carried away so going to say somewhere around mid table.

Unsung hero at the club?

Garry Hunter. Always gives 100% in games and does not get as much credit as he deserves.

Opposition player you despise

Tony Capaldi. Some fans will never forgive him for his internet outburst. Can’t wait untill Oxford Visit!

Opposition player you secretly admire

Tony Roberts of Dagenham. Looking forward to his entertainment this season. (Sadly Tony recently announced his retirement from football so we won’t get to see him again after all)

If away fans do just one thing thing when they travel to your ground?

We recently won an award for our pies so hopefully they buy lots!

Would you like to see Jim Bentley play himself more next season?

Hope he plays a few more games for us but think the best place for a manger is on the sidelines.

FourFourTwo magazine is on sale now at all good retailers priced at £4.95.

Vital Morecambe would like to wish Jim and the team all the best for the 2011/12 season.
