Stuart Drummond had his tesimonial game on Wednesday against Preston North End and although Morecambe were on the wrong end of a 3-0 score line Stuart got the man of the match award and was given a standing ovation when he was subsituted just before the end of the game.

After the game during his post match interviews Preston boss Phil Brown also reserved special praise for the 35 year old who was once on the youth books at North End.

Speaking to the clubs official website Bropwn said ‘I would like to give a special mention to Stewart Drummond, he started his days playing for Preston and ended his days playing against Preston for his testimonial.

‘He is a 35-year-old and a great servant and I thought genuinely he was man of the match tonight, he was outstanding in the middle of the park.

I didn’t think it was a case of us standing off and letting him play, I think he was getting stuck into everybody. But I thought he was different class tonight, it has been an outstanding night for him.’

Well done Stu!

Vital Morecambe would like to wish Jim and the team all the best for the 2011/12 season.
