Keiran Charnock is on the verge of joining Fleetwood Town after Cod army Manager Micky Mellon hinted he would be interested in bringing the defender to Highbury full time.

Charnock who is coming to the end of a one month loan deal has also been quoted by the Fleetwood manager as telling him he would like to make the move full time.

And it looks like it will be a question of when and not if the deal with go through as jim Bentley has hinted he would be prepared to let the defender leave to free up space on the wage bill for Jauary transfer targets.

Bentley has already got his eye on ‘a couple of players’ with one reportedly a striker although no names as known. It is thought Morecambe will make at least one new signing in the transfer window even if Charnock returns to the club.

It would make sence with him noting being in our first team plans and we could really do with that extra striker up front.
