Sammy MacIlroy told the official Morecambe website how he was dissapionted with the defeat after starting the game the better of the two sides.

‘We started brilliantly and took an early lead and everything looked good.

‘The lads looked really bright and were playing some great football and I thought we were going to get a second.

‘We really stretching them but after about 20 minutes we stopped playing and that was disappointing.

‘To make matters worse we switched off and conceded two shocking goals again and that is something that keeps happening to us.’

Speaking about the players that missed the game Sammy said ‘Andy Parrish was ill, Chris Shuker and Craig Stanley were suspended and Stewart Drummond, Andy Fleming and Neil Wainwright all injured. I had to put some young lads on the bench and it was good experience for them but it was probably not the right game to bring them on in the end.’
