Redshaw Replacement Bid Fails

We’ll have to go some to replace our former Man City youngster Jack Redshaw following his exit to Blackpool this summer wont we? Jim Bentley, after the Bolton win, revealed Morecambe had suffered a setback in these efforts.

A two-one win against Bolton, for what they’re worth in pre-season, was another boost heading into the new season but the loss of Redshaw clearly was a setback with Bentley revealing to the Lancaster Guardian a bid to bring in his replacement had failed….

Bentley didn’t name names but says he felt an adequate replacement had been found but having offered them a deal they declined it in favour of a move elsewhere.

‘We identified someone who we thought would be good enough.

‘We offered him a deal and tried to get him but unfortunately he’s chosen to go elsewhere today.’

As we know Bentley has to work with the tightest of budgets, probably the tightest so far this season, but he’ll keep chipping away to plug those final gaps that need filling!

Fortunately he feels ‘all over the park we’re looking okay’ so isn’t after much, apart from that striker with another ‘keeper also on the agenda.

Bentley went onto add he feels he’ll actually have a ‘selection headache’ to contend with.

‘When they are all fit and well I’m going to have a hell of a headache.

‘There’s been some strong performances in there and I predict there will be more going into the season.

‘It’s a squad game though and we’ll have injuries and suspensions as we’ve seen in the past but we’re looking decent.’
