Morecambe announced the signing of Will Bell on Wednesday, and immediately his departure!
Jim Bentley, having been impressed with him last season, has decided that he wanted to give him a one-year contract but he will spend the duration of this away from the Globe Arena with Bala Town FC on loan.
Explaining the decision, Bentley told the official website: ‘Will did well for us last year and I want to keep an eye on his progress.
‘We have allowed him to join Bala for the season where he will get some great experience.
‘He will be playing alongside Dave Artell and I’m sure he will really benefit from the experience.’
Bala Town play in the Welsh Premier League, and so long as international clearance is gained in time he’ll make his debut at the weekend.
Obviously we have longer-term plans for Bell, with an ‘option’ in his contract that we can take up, but Bentley wants him to play a season regularly elsewhere and not risk losing the player, otherwise why sign him?
