Morecambe play host to lowly Northampton Town on Saturday as Jim Bentley looks to complete his first ‘double` of the season with Morecambe having won 2-0 at Northampton back in August.

Northampton have continued their slump in the league and last week slipped into the relegation zone for the first time. Morecambe ended a winless run on Monday with a 1-0 victory at Crewe thanks to a goal from leading goal scorer Kevin Ellison.

Morecambe will be looking to add to that win and keep alive the play off dream while a Northampton victory would see them move out of the drop zone.

Laurence Wilson is a slight doubt but it remains to be seen if Jim Bentley will stick with the side who won at Crewe after making 5 changes from the previous game.

Player to watch: Chris McCready

Former Cobbler Chris McCready will be looking to celebrate signing a new contract with a win over his former club.

Northampton Town Team News:

Northampton Town have extended the loan of West Brom striker Saido Berahino and will now be avalible for Saturday’s game. Northamton Have this week also completed the signing of Peterborough’s Kelvin Langmead after a loan spell.

Player to watch: Adebayo Akinfenwa

Rejoined Northampton in the summer from Gillingham where he scored 11 league goals last season. Northampton’s top scorer is currently on 9 goals so far this term.

Morecambe won the last meeting 2-0 back in August however Northamton were winners on their last visit to the Globe Arena.

Match Prediction:

The preasure is on us being favorites although it could be a lot closer than some people think – 2-1 Morecambe
