Laurence Wilson has completed his return to Morecambe, signing a one-year deal.

Wilson left the Globe Arena to sign for Rotherham United two-seasons ago but with most recently with Accrington Stanley but left them this summer at the end of his contract, meaning he became a free agent.

Jim Bentley knew what the 27-year-old was all about and was happy to have him back on trial this summer with it quickly clear that he was a player he wanted back with him having ‘no hesitation’ in bringing him back after a disappointing spell away from the Shrimps really.

Bentley told the official website: ‘Lawrence was always an excellent player for us and one of the best left backs in League 2.

‘He left us to join Rotherham and although things didn’t quite go to plan for him there, I had no hesitation in bringing him back to the club after his spell at Accrington.

‘He is a quality player who is hungry to be successful here. He`s fitted back into the club superbly and impressed with his attitude and application during pre season.’

Are you happy to see Wilson back to build on his successful three-year spell previously? Do you think it will work coming home?
