Any hopes that Morecambe might have had of securing a late play-off place were ended at the weekend after a 1-0 defeat at Bradford.

Eddie Johnson scored the only goal of the match, but Bradford did have other chances, however Morecambe were denied a last gasp equaliser when Craig Stanley struck the post with a long-range effort.

The defeat leaves Morecambe 11 points adrift of Wycombe who occupy the final play-off spot, so the season is over for Morecambe now really isn’t it?

Morecambe’s chances were gone long before this game, but a good first season nontheless.

You did very well to get so close this season when a lot of people expected you to be close to relegation.
