Morecambe’s latest pre-season game, and once again at the Globe Arena, ended in defeat against higher league opposition.

Preston North End were the visitors on Friday night with them going away with a win.

Jim Bentley would have been happy with the start to the game but it was Preston that went into the half time break one-nil up when Joe Garner headed home for the visitors.

Ryan Williams, as he so often does, levelled up for the Shrimps though with a freekick in his typical style and that left the game looking as though it could end up in a one-one draw.

The league 1 side went away with a two-one win though with Keith Keane coming off the bench to lob home the winner with just eight-minutes left meaning that we once again suffered pre-season defeat, for what it’s worth mind!

Morecambe: Arestidou; Beeley [Wright 73], Edwards [Parrish 82], Hughes (c), Wilson [Goodall 82]; Drummond [Kenyon 65], Fleming, Williams; Amond, Redshaw [Sampson 68], Ellison.
Unused subs: Stewart, Doyle, McGowan, McCready.
