Shrimply Not Good Enough!

Morecambe went down 2-1 at home to Lincoln City in a disappointing defeat on Saturday.

Morecambe started the game the better of the two sides and had a couple of efforts on goal before Phil Jevons gave the home side the lead after a corner from Mark Duffy was headed goal wards and Jevons was on hand to give his side an early lead.

That was it for Morecambe and not long after going behind Lincoln would have been straight back on level terms had it not been for Chris McCready who stopped Chris Howell`s effort from handing the Imps the equaliser.

Lincoln created more chances as the half went on but Morecambe hung on in and went into the half time break with a 1-0 lead.

The second half started with more pressure on the home side from Lincoln and you guessed it was only a matter of time before Lincoln scored.

That goal came in the 52nd minute Moses Swaibu getting on the end of a cross and heading home from close range.

You could be forgiven for thinking conceding a goal would spark Morecambe into life, well unfortunately you would be wrong. Five minutes later and `Morecambe 1-2 Lincoln City` was displayed on Morecambe`s impressive new score board as Ashley Grimes gave the Imps the lead.

It didn`t get any better for Morecambe and they couldn`t have had many complaints if Lincoln had got a third goal.

Five minutes of injury time at the end of the game gave Morecambe some hope that maybe they could get at least a point for the game however it was not to be and even though the Shrimps pushed hard in the closing stages they couldn`t find a way of putting the ball into the back of the net.
