If only football matches lasted 45 minutes: Morecambe were winning 0-1 against non-League Halifax on Saturday at the end of the first half with a goal from Paul Mullin after just five minutes. In the second half, though, Billy Heath`s men tore a team playing in the Football League two full divisions above them apart and ended-up winning by six goals to two with Matty Kosylo, Josh MacDonald, Scott Garner, Tom Benton all finding the net and Richard Peniket scoring twice. Mullin scored a second goal after 55 minutes to make it 2-2 at the time but after that, the visitors – playing with a trailist between the sticks – fell apart completely. Jim Bentley acknowledged that the result was `a shock to the system` after the game but insisted that Morecambe`s only pre-season defeat so far would be a learning experience for his team. He must be worried though: this display was nothing less than woeful?Ref: Jane Simms
