Izak Reid and Morecambe have decided to part company after 18-months.

The winger, who was due to be out of contract in the summer anyway, hasn’t featured in Jim Bentley’s squads for a while and wasn’t likely to either.

As such, as Bentley told the official website, it was best that they part company now with it mutually agreed to terminate his deal with The Shrimps boss wishing him well: ‘Izak has not been in the starting line-up for some time. It seemed only fair to him to allow him to leave with his contract ending in the summer.

‘He has been a great lad to work with and we wish him well for the future.’

More and more contracts are being mutually ended by agreement, with it definitely the way to go if it’s best for all concerned, which it is here for Morecambe and the 23-year-old as far as Reid goes.
