Redshaw now Tangerine.

Rumours which have been swirling round Morecambe Football Club recently were confirmed today with the announcement that Jack Redshaw has signed for Blackpool. Jack the Lad was arguably Morecambe`s best player of recent times and was the club`s second leading scorer. He had the opportunity to sign for Peterborough United not long ago but turned down the move for personal reasons. He will be missed. He will also be added to the growing list of promising players in the Shrimps team who have been sacrificed to the great god of Cash in recent times: Mark Duffy and Carl Baker being two obvious other examples. But such is the reality of a small club with weak finances. Morecambe supporters will hope that Tom Barkhuizen – who has made the reverse journey to the Globe Arena from Blackpool – will go at least some way to plugging the gap left by the man originally signed from Altrincham.
