Morecambe travelled to Devon on Saturday to take on League Two leaders Plymouth and looking to win for the first time in five matches so far at Home Park. It started as badly as it possibly could for the Shrimps when Graham Carey scored with only two minutes played, swerving the ball past Barry Roche from outside the area right into the top corner of the net with his left foot. Craig Tanner increased the Pilgrims` lead after eleven minutes with another tremendous strike from outside the penalty area which beat Roche all ends up to sail low into the corner of the net. That, effectively, was that: both teams had further chances but the league leaders were good value for their win at the end of the game. They remain top of the pile.
