Alan Parrish’s future with Morecambe has been secured after he agreed a new contract with the club.

Parrish would’ve been out of contract in the summer but having signed a new two-year he’ll now remain at the Globe Arena until at least the summer of 2016 now.

Jim Bentley has hailed his versatility, as he can play anywhere in defence, following this contract extension with him also of the opinion that Parrish will get better and better due to him being at a “perfect age” for this.

The boss told the official website: ‘He is a big member of our squad and is a virtual ever-present. He can play anywhere along the backline and is vital to what we want to achieve here.

‘I am delighted he has signed up again because he is the perfect age and still getting better and better.’

Parrish was signed from Bury back in 2008 with him becoming a mainstay in the first team since this time.
