Morecambe are back at home on Saturday when Crewe Alexandra are the visitors. Now we all know the result last time these two met! Crewe 3-1 up with Morecambe down to 10 men and time running out only for Morecambe to score three late goals and win 4-3, amazing! Now interestingly the scorer of Morecambe`s winner in that game, Dave Artell will be running out in the opposition colours on Saturday having made the switch in the summer.

Crewe Alexandra were formed in 1877 and played in their first league match in 1892. The club turned professional in 1893. In more recent years Crewe managed to avoid relegation to League 2 on the last day of the 2007/08 season however they did drop down the following season. Last season saw the return of Dario Gradi as manager in September for the third time.

So far this season Crewe sit just outside the play off places on 22 points. This month Crewe started with a 2-1 home defeat to Shrewsbury Town a trip to Tamworth in the FA Cup was next up but surprisingly they came back with nothing to show for their efforts after another 2-1 defeat. Another cup defeat came next, this time in the Jonstones Paint Trophy away at Carlisle United 3-1. Back to the league and back at home Crewe beat Gillingham 3-1. In their last game the Alex lost 1-0 at home to Rotherham United.
