Morecambe denied victory

Morecambe will count themselves unlucky not to have gained all 3 points in Tuesday nights meeting with Shrewsbury, having to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Carl Barker’s free kick gave the home side the lead and only the woodwork denied further goals, Matty Blinkhorn and Henry McStay the unlucky men before Marc Pugh scored to give the Shrews what prove to be a vital point in their relegation battle.

Morecambe will feel aggrieved not to have won but they could have ended up losing had James Constable took the chances that fell to him.
