It wasn’t plain sailing, far from it, but Morecambe secured a win over non-league Burscough on Tuesday.

A goal in either half was enough for a 2-0 win.

The Shrimps were off to a flyer as Jack Redshaw stepped up, after Alex Kenyon had been brought down, to score from the penalty spot after only four-minutes.

At that point plenty might have been expected!

That wasn’t the case at all with victory only secured at the midway point of the second half. Once again Kenyon was involved as he played in substitute Padraig Amond to secure the two-nil win.

Morecambe: Roche (rep Arestidou 45), Wright, Parrish, Edwards (rep Doyle 47), Wilson (rep |McGowan 63); Goodall, Drummond, Kenyon (rep Watson 74), Devitt (rep Amond 63), Sampson, Redshaw (rep Mullin 63).
Subs not used: Fleming, Williams.
