Morecambe gaffer Jim Bentley has confirmed winger Kevin Ellison is to see a specialist over a back injury which ristricted him to just over 20 minutes game time in Saturdays 2-2 draw at Bradford.

Bentley told Sky Sports ‘He(Ellison) isn’t right at the minute because he has got a sore back, but hopefully that will be sorted out once he has seen a back specialist this week.’

Bentley also confirmed he is looking to make at least one signing in the transfer window and hopes to see a couple of trialists take to the field in Wednesdays reserve team game away at Tranmere Rovers.

Said Bentley ‘We are trying to strengthen all the time and there is room to strengthen, with targets identified.’

‘At the moment it has been a bit frustrating due to financial reasons or location reasons, but we will keep trying our best to bring extra bodies in.’
