Morecambe’s preparations, after a difficult summer, for the new season kicked off with an impressive win over Championship outfit Burnley in their opening pre-season friendly.

The only goal of the game came late in the second half as Kevin Ellison diverted a cross into the back of the net to hand the Shrimps a 1-0 win at the Globe on Tuesday night.
