Manager Jim Bentley has said the result against Crawley was all that mattered in last night’s match.

Audio – Bentley Talks Crawley Win

Speaking to the Visitor in his post game press conference, the gaffer said that the performance was irrelevant for him last night, what mattered was picking up the three points so seeing us take a three one victory delighted him – even though he knew it was hardly an exciting game.

‘I don`t think it was a great game but the most important thing today was winning. You come back home after a couple of good results and there was a little bit of pressure on us to win. We haven`t been great at home recently. We`ve scored goals but defensively we`ve struggled.’

Bentley was disappointed to not see us keep the clean sheet in the game, but he felt we showed some good improvements in the overall play so it’s about building on those going forward.

What did please him though is that we look like there’s goals in us.

‘We couldn`t keep that clean sheet tonight but we limited them to not much and there were improvements made. There`s no doubting we`re going to get goals, there`s lads in great form. Shaun Miller got his goal again with a fantastic bit of play, Paul Mullin`s got five for the season now and Kev`s really been working hard and not had much luck so I`m made up for him to get back on the scoresheet. It was a bit dull though, the crowd were waiting to be excited and the players almost wanted the crowd to get them up and running. But that was a massive win for us because it breaks that cycle. We`ll play better but tonight it was about the result.’
