Manager Jim Bentley has declared himself delighted with Morecambe’s efforts in the five two victory over Wimbledon on Saturday.

Having actually fallen behind to the early goal in the game, Morecambe soon levelled and went on to show their control of the game taking the three one lead and despite Wimbledon pulling one back early doors in the second half, we added a further two to make it a heavy and comfortable win on our travels.

Speaking to the Visitor in his post game press conference, a delighted gaffer explained that he was pleased with the performance but also to see the side make it three on the bounce away from home.

It was a cracking win for us on our travels again. We`ve got plenty of good attacking options in the group and it doesn`t surprise me that we`re scoring goals.’

Defensively, he admitted that against their ‘two big centre forwards’ it was a tricky match and they were certainly putting the ball into our box but the defence stood up to be counted and the two centre halves in particular were ‘men’ over the 90 minutes.

‘It was backs to the wall at times but we defended really well and we know we`re a really good counter attacking side which was typified in the second half with the goals that we scored. It was a great away performance and hopefully we can now go back home in front of our home fans on Tuesday and get back to winning ways there.’
