Why are Morecambe struggling so much at their relatively new home? Well it’s a mystery!

A clubs home ground is meant to act as something of a fortress although Morecambe’s Globe Arena is pretty much far from that.

Quite why this is the case “mystifies” Barry Roche, as he told PA Sports when asked the question: I’ve absolutely no idea. We’ve spoken about it probably more in recent weeks than we have before – it wasn’t something that the players necessarily talked an awful lot about.

‘But obviously this season it’s gone on and I think it really, really got to everyone after throwing away the two-goal lead against Plymouth with 15 minutes to go a couple of weeks back.

‘So we’ve spoken about it but there’s nothing we’ve done differently at home than away from home. We prepare for every single game the exact same way and we can’t really put a finger on what happens to us there.’

That’s that settled then!

Should The Shrimps manage to get three points against in-form Burton at The Globe this weekend, following up their win at home against Chesterfield in midweek, then that will make it back to back home wins for the first time since February.
